Youth Union

 

The "Yoga in Daily Life Youth Union" was founded in August, 2004 in Strilky, Czech Republic, inspired by His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji. The group of children and youth joined together in order to express their views on many important topics of today: peace in the world, tolerance among nations and religions, multi-culturalism, vegetarianism, and protection of animals and the environment.

1st International Children Peace Conference

“Peace and Spiritual Values in Modern Society”

2003, August 12, Strilky, Czech Republic

The first Conference took place on August 12, 2003 in Strilky, Czech Republic supported by representatives of Czech culture, politics and religion. Children and youth from nearly 10 European countries and USA gathered to discuss some of the most urgent matters of today’s world.

YIDL Youth Union opening statement:

  • Children should be happy
  • Children should have the right to live in whole families
  • Children should learn how to create harmonious families and be faithful to their life partners
  • Children should have access to free education
  • Children have the right to world peace
  • Tolerance and understanding should be established between nations and religions
  • Multiculturalism should be developed in the societies
  • Children should support vegetarianism in the world
  • Children should protect the animals
  • There is a need to protect children from drugs, alchohol and other negative social behaviour.

2nd International Children Peace Conference

"How to Bring More Love to the World"

2004, August 12, Strilky, Czech Republic

On August 12, 2004, in the beautiful area of the International Yoga in Daily Life Centre in Strilky, Czech Republic, the 2nd International Conference, entitled "How to Bring More Love to the World", took place. It was initiated by His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji. The Conference gathered more than 1000 participants from all over Europe and honourable guests from  the Indian Embassy in Czech Republic, Mr. Kumar Mukesh (Indian Cultural attaché) and Mr. Charee. Letters of support were sent from Mrs. Dagmar Havlova (the wife of the ex-president of Czech Republic, Mr. Vaclav Havel) and the Czech Minister for the Environment, Mr. Ambrozek.

Following the success of the first Children's Peace Conference Conference in 2003, children were enthusiastically involved in the preparations of the event. They put together more than 30 contributions, consisting of paper presentations, cultural programs and performances. The younger ones drew pictures, made decorations, and prepared songs and poems.

Emphasizing the importance of the Conference themes, children addressed the following topics: how to create better relationships between humans; can I personally enrich the world with love?; tolerance among religions, cultures and all nations.

Additionally, Swamiji suggested topics regarding the environment, water and climate change: "Do not ignore the laws of the Nature - never disregard Nature or Nature will take its retribution."

In closing the Conference, Swamiji said:

"I am proud of our children, they have demonstrated their love and wisdom. I wish them good, harmonious and healthy life, good education and many many blessings".

"Earth is the planet of life, let us protect life".

Children want to live in a happy family and in a peaceful world, surrounded by healthy environment - and they are ready to do something to achieve this. These are the conclusions of the 3rd International Youth Peace Conference organized by Yoga in Daily Life Youth Union, established a year ago.

The event of the International Youth Peace Conference has already become traditional and the same goes for its venue, the premises of the International Yoga in Daily Life Centre in the beautiful area of Strilky/Czech Republic. The Conference was initiated by His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, the author of the renown System of Yoga in Daily Life. The main theme of this year's event was: "Earth is the planet of life, let us protect the life".

4th International Children Peace Conference - Part I

"Environmental Protection, World Peace, Water Conservation and Tolerance for all Religions and Cultures"

2006, January 29, Jadan, India

The Conference was supported by highly regarded participants: His Royal Highness the Maharaja of Jodhpur; representatives of the High Court Judges; politicians and educators such as: Mrs. Mamta Meghwal, of the district Pali; Mrs. Lakshmi Barupal M.L.A (member of legislative assembly); Desuri Surendr Singh C.H.M; Justice Madan Ji Rathor M.L.A; Colonel Suk Sing Rathor and his wife Mrs. Vijaya Lakshmi; Pradhan Kesaram Choudry Mayor of Jadan; and youth of "Vishwadeep Gurukul Vidyale Jadan". The Conference was also accompanied by foreign members of YIDL and respected guests from all over the world: Divya Jyoti, president of the Multicultural Society of Croatia; Agni Mitra representing Youth from Czech Republic; and Nataša Bucar-Dragsler, horticultural architect from Slovenia.


The Program was opened with the beautiful song Saraswati Vandana sang by school children of the Om Vishwa Deep Gurukul Swami Maheshwarananda Ashram.

5th International Children Peace Conference

“Let Us Save Our Planet”

2006, 1st December, Prague, Czech Republic

On the occasion of the 5th International Youth Conference organized by the International Youth Union of Yoga in Daily Life, its initiator H. H. Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji and an group of 40 delegates of Yoga in Daily Life from several countries were welcomed on Nov. 30, 2007, in the historic City Hall of Prague on behalf of the Lord Mayor of Prague by Deputy Mayor for International Relations Mrs. Marketa Reedova, Deputy Mayor Marie Kousalikova and City Councillor Mr. Petr Stepanek.
