Celebrating International Yoga Day in Ukraine
In celebration of the 3rd annual International Day of Yoga, the Ukrainian group of Yoga in Daily Life took part in a yoga session in Kiev, under the guidance of the Ambassador of India to Ukraine.
His Excellency Manoj K. Bharti, led a series of yoga exercises himself, for more than 1500 people. Participants declared that the yoga session was "excellent - with simple, but effective movements" appreciated by all practitioners, who came to one of the main streets of Ukrainian capital for the program called 'Marathon without the rush', initiated by the Indian Embassy in Ukraine.
This was the largest gathering of people practicing yoga asanas together in Ukraine, and quite possibly in the whole of Europe.
On 24 June, Om Sri Alakhpuriji Ashram - Yoga in Daily Life Cherkasy, was honored by a visit from the Ambassador of India. After a warm welcoming, a group of juniors and Yoga Teachers demonstrated some asanas from each of the 8 levels of the Yoga in Daily Life System.
His Excellency then gave an incredibly interesting lecture about Yoga and Indian Philosophy, and how this ancient knowledge has been rediscovered and affirmed by modern science.
Those attending were deeply impressed and many expressed their wish to invite Mr. Bharti again.
