Bosnia & Herzegovina
The 4th International Day of Yoga was celebrated in Bosnia & Herzegovina on 16 June 2018, with a special event in the capital city of Sarajevo, graced by the presence of His Excellency Mr. Rahul Chhabra, Ambassador of India and his wife Mrs. Kavita Chhabra. The ambassador also attended and joined in with the session of yoga practice. The program also included an excellent dance performance by the dance troupe 'Alaknanda Sanskriti'.

During the International Yoga Day week, the Georgia YIDL center in Tbilisi organized several free events: two lectures on Mindfulness/Meditation Practices; a Vedic Astrology Marathon; a Laughter Yoga class; an outdoor yoga class at the Botanical Garden; and 18 free regular yoga classes. More than 300 people participated in the free events.
In Luxembourg, IDY was celebrated with free yoga classes on Wednesday 20 June and Sunday 24 June, with vegan refreshments provided afterwards. On Thursday 21 June a short 'yoga break' was offered to colleagues at the workplace of one the local YIDL teachers, with a focus on exercises from sarva hitta asana for relaxing the neck and shoulders. Vegan refreshments followed. Donations were collected from participants for the Gyanputra project, supporting school children in rural Rajasthan, India.
To celebrate IDY, from Monday 18th until Saturday 23rd June, free yoga classes were provided each day in the ashram in Nadlac. The main event was on Thursday 21 June, with a program in the morning for 50 children from the daily camp at the social home, also taking place in the ashram. As well as asana practice, an 'eco-friendly' game was prepared for the children, teaching them how to protect Mother Earth by cleaning, recycling and saving water. They had the opportunity to create a 'Tree of Life' from recycled paper and plastic, and they connected it with the story about the Holy Tree that gives shelter and fruits to all living beings. At the end of their activities children sang the peace mantra together - om shanti. The evening offered a free yoga class for adults.
On the same day, in the neighboring city of Pecica, a free yoga class was followed by a presentation of the Yoga in Daily Life lineage, Sri Alakhpuriji Parampara, talking about the ashrams in India and watching a video documentary of the pilgrimage to the Himalayas.
On Friday 22 June, a free program for children and adults was planned for the city park, but due to wet weather conditions the program was held in the ashram. On Saturday 23 June a 'Karma Yoga Day' was organized. Now becoming a tradition, a group of YIDL teachers and practitioners gathered together to offer help to the city in cleaning a problematic area, by collecting PET bottles and other litter and waste. The city mayor, Ioan Radu Marginean accompanied the group, proving to be a great karma yogi too, helping to fill 120 large bags with plastic waste. After this, karma yoga continued with cleaning in the ashram, and the day ended with a celebration satsang.
Spain & Cuba
The YIDL Association from Spain organised various events in Barcelona, Gran Canaria and Cuba. Several free open activities were carried out to present the system of Yoga in Daily Life to the public.
In the week before IDY, two important events took place: on Saturday 16 June the Yoga Master Class - Help & Freedom was held at Nova Icaria beach in Barcelona. The class was organized in collaboration with Nova Icaria Sport & Fit, with donations collected by the instructors contributed to the Gyan Putra Project in Jadan School, India. On Sunday 17 June, Sadhvi Yamuna Puri from Barcelona Ashram led an International Yoga Day Seminar in the yoga center.
The next week, on 21 June, the official IDY celebration day started with a special Brahmamuhurta (dawn) program at Nova Icaria beach, at 5.45am. Later on, the program continued with meditation and the practice of several asanas, such as Surya Namaskar - 'sun salutation'.During that day, the Barcelona’s Yoga in Daily Life center remained open to the public the whole day, offering free classes and open doors to all. Finally, the activities into the evening with Yoga Nidra and meditation guided by Sadhvi Yamuna Puri. And the day concluded with puja (prayers) to Lord Ganesha.
Free classes were also provided by YIDL Spain in Gran Canaria...
And members from YIDL Spain have initiated Yoga in Daily Life activities in Cuba, so there were free IDY classes offered there too.
