Healing Light of Ayurveda

The Yoga in Daily Life Culture Hall in Rijeka, Croatia, hosted a dedicated Ayurveda weekend seminar, Purification & Rejuvenation in Ayurveda, from 29-31 May 2026. The program offered participants an in-depth introduction to traditional Ayurvedic wisdom, practical applications and personalised consultations, aimed at supporting holistic health and well-being.

Facilitator: Ayurveda Acharya Laxminarayan Stepponat

The seminar was led by Ayurveda Acharya Laxminarayan Stepponat, who holds a diploma in Nutritional Training from Vienna and a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) from the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar. This institute is part of Gujarat Ayurved University, one of India’s most respected and leading centres for Ayurvedic education.

During the weekend, he guided participants through workshops and offered individual Ayurvedic consultations, providing personalised insights and recommendations.

Introduction to Ayurveda: The Knowledge of Life

The program began with an introduction to Ayurveda, defined as the “knowledge of life” and a system aimed at maintaining health and restoring balance.

Ayurveda is traditionally understood as a teaching that supports:

  • Preservation of health in healthy individuals
  • Restoration of balance in those experiencing illness
  • Promotion of long life and vitality

Participants were introduced to its origins, historical development and foundational principles, including its eight classical branches.

The Concept of Tri-Dosha

A key focus of the seminar was the explanation of the Tri-Dosha theory, which describes the three fundamental energies governing the body and mind:

  • Vata
  • Pitta
  • Kapha

Understanding these principles helps identify individual constitution and supports personalised approaches to diet, lifestyle and healing.
