Mahashivaratri 2026
A Global Yoga in Daily Life Gathering and Sacred Ashram Tour with Swami Avatar Puriji
Hundreds of devotees of Yoga in Daily Life gathered at OM Ashram to celebrate the auspicious festival of Mahashivaratri, honouring the divine presence of God Shiva in human form as Sri Vishwaguruji. The sacred days unfolded as a deeply spiritual and uplifting experience filled with devotion, unity, and remembrance of the eternal Parampara.
A Sacred Mahashivaratri at OM Ashram
The group enjoyed a beautiful everyday program that began in the early morning hours and continued throughout the day that included:
- Prayers in the Shiva Temples
- Special pujas to the Dwadash Jyotir Lingam
- Guided meditation and yoga sessions
- Lectures on pranayama
- Yoga Nidra accompanied by the divine flute of Swami Madhuram Puriji
- Evening prayers and inspiring discourses by Pujya Maharaj Swami Avatar Puri Ji and revered Mahamandaleshwars and swamis of OM Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara
Devotees also enjoyed delicious vegetarian food, peaceful walks across the vast ashram grounds, and the opportunity to serve in Ashram duties. The atmosphere radiated devotion, serenity, and spiritual joy. During moments of leisure, devotees could relax together over coffee or enjoy “The Best Chai in the Universe,” sharing warmth, fellowship, and uplifting conversation.
Pilgrimage to Sri Devpuriji Ashram, Kailash
Following the sacred Shivaratri night 669-pilgrimage-to-gurudevs-lotus-feet-crowned-with-mahashivaratri-celebration, Pujya Maharaj Swami Avatar Puri Ji led devotees from around the world on a pilgrimage to Sri Devpuriji Ashram, Kailash. For many, it was their first visit to this holy place.
With a noble vision of unity and harmony, Pujya Maharaj Ji invited villagers from surrounding areas to gather for sacred satsang - encouraging them to forget past conflicts and cultivate peace, spiritual upliftment, and oneness.
He was welcomed in a grand procession of beautifully adorned carriages, accompanied by traditional villagers and international devotees of Sri Vishwaguruji. The atmosphere was vibrant with devotion and culture.
Hundreds of women carried the sacred Kalash, each filled with pure water, topped with a coconut, and decorated with mango leaves.
In Hindu worship, offerings are sacred symbols of devotion:
- Water represents life, purity, and the primordial cosmic element.
- Mango leaves symbolise fertility, prosperity, and harmony with nature.
- Coconut signifies surrender of the human ego to the Divine.
Teachings from Pujya Maharaj Swami Avatar Puri Ji
During the satsang, Pujya Maharaj Ji delivered a profound message on detachment and spiritual awakening:
“When we are born into this world, we come with nothing. We are born naked, and when we leave this world, we leave in the same way. We do not take anything with us. Yet, despite this truth, we cling to attachments and hold tightly to them.
Attachment is not limited to family alone. We can also become attached to our emotions, desires, or material possessions. These attachments restrict our spiritual growth. When we gradually free ourselves, we feel inspired to move forward on the spiritual path.
Saints establish ashrams for your liberation. They could remain in the Himalayas in solitude, but in this age of Kali Yuga, spiritual ignorance is strong. Therefore, it is essential to awaken people.
Sri Vishwaguruji has spread Sanatan Dharma worldwide to remind humanity of its true spiritual nature. You are asleep in ignorance, and it is the duty of saints to awaken you.”
His words deeply touched the hearts of all present.

Visit to Sri Deepeshwar Mahadev Shiv Bag Ashram, Bari Khatu
The pilgrimage continued to Sri Deepeshwar Mahadev Shiv Bag Ashram, where the evening concluded with a serene satsang filled with devotion, reflection, and gratitude in the divine presence of the Parampara.

Sacred Visits in Kachras and Hari Vasani
Pujya Maharaj Ji visited the revered Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara Ashram, Kachras, along with Thakur Ji Ka Mandir, Kachras.
These sacred places hold deep meaning for Pujya Maharaj Ji and all the bhaktas of the Yoga in Daily Life, as it was here, four years ago, that he was initiated as the successor of the OM Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara https://www.vishwaguruji.org/parampara. Walking once again through these holy grounds was a moment of remembrance, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the lineage.
In Hari Vasani, the holy birthplace of Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji, he offered respects to the family of Late Sri Ganesh Puri Ji.
There, the entire group was blessed with the opportunity to visit the small room of Sri Mahaprabhuji and to perform abhishek at the ancient Shiva Lingam, sanctified by the sacred presence of Mahaprabhuji.
He also took the whole group to visit Sati Baisa Ji, a deeply revered tapaswini, offering respects and receiving her blessings.
